We work with the judiciary and a number of different judicial organisations to grow the Judicial Action Group (JAG) by inviting senior judges with unimpeachable reputations to join the group.
Working under a wholly neutral umbrella, supported by our secretariat services, the inaugural meeting of the JAG took place in 2016 in Cape Town. The second JAG meeting was at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe in 2018 and the third meeting held in Cairo, Egypt in 2019. The fourth meeting was held remotely in 2020 and the fifth meeting was held in Nairobi, Kenya in December 2021.
Our partnership with ROLE UK and the Department for International Development, (DfID) has allowed the group to begin its work on a range of topical concerns within African judiciaries – dialogue, dissemination and thought leadership are the themes of their emerging discussions and plans.
