Atticus Fellowships

'The one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a courtroom.'

Atticus Fellowships fund the careers of ‘Development Lawyers’

A ‘Development Lawyer’ is a junior public interest legal practitioner who works from within an African Protimos legal hub, serving local impoverished communities whose resource rights are threatened or infringed.

The Atticus Fellowship enables such lawyers to develop their expertise for the benefit of the communities from which they are drawn.

This shapes a fairer, healthier society, applying legal skills at the intersections of traditional, local and international human rights law, business and environmental protection.
