Huge thanks to everyone who has sponsored them so generously. The Sancycle total is still rising – so far £6,157 has been donated. This is a really excellent achievement.
The Odyssey
Day 1: Wednesday 15th Aug, meet at 6.30am for briefing. Setting off from Crystal Palace meant cyclists would journey from Tower to Tower! This was the most gruelling day’s cycling, with 90 miles covered in just eight hours – to ensure everyone caught the ferry from Dover!
Day 2: A little more forgiving, as they cycled through the beautiful countryside of northern France, with summer sun easing the 72 miles to Abbeville.
Day 3: Waking up on Day 3 with another 60 miles to cover, a personal intercom system meant the couple could stay in constant contact with each other.
Day 4: Nous sommes arrivés. Alec and Sabina, triumphant at Le Tour Eiffel at 2.00pm on Saturday!! Thank you both so much for taking up this challenge to raise funds for our San IPR Project, just before your wedding. We wish you all the greatest happiness in the future.
