Lawyers challenging poverty

Following last year’s successful début, we held our Annual Celebrity Quiz Night 2010 on the 10th February. Teams from the City’s legal and financial professions once again engaged in a battle of wits as quiz master John Humphrys put them through their paces to raise funds for our work in South Africa.

In the presence of HRH Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso, High Commissioner of The Kingdom of Lesotho, who both spoke and distributed the prizes, Magic Circle teams (Allen & Overy, Freshfields, Clifford Chance, Slaughter and May) challenged the best of the Bar, (Brick Court, FTB, and many more), at this elite fundraising event, held once again at The Law Society.

The evening was introduced by Protimos’ founding Director, Fiona Darroch. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, dinner and fine wines, the quiz itself, and both silent and live auctions.

Freshfields emerged victorious, taking the coveted first prize, closely followed by Slaughter and May who snatched second prize after a tense tie-break.

Once more, the success of the evening has ensured the event as an annual challenge with all those involved vowing to return to compete next year.
