Protimos 500 - Lawyers challenging poverty

Protimos 500 is a scheme drawing together lawyers from across the globe, providing practising and academic lawyers with an opportunity to take an active role in our work, both financially and intellectually.

Our work involves a wide range of legal issues arising in diverse locations. This creates a need for the expertise of lawyers qualified in different jurisdictions, who can provide different areas of specialisation. Our projects engage legal issues concerning, among other things:

  1.   intellectual property

  2.   environment

  3.   freedom of information

  4.   alternative dispute resolution

  5.   human rights

  6.   indigenous people

  7.   public international law

Involvement

By becoming a member of Protimos 500 you will be able to be involved in our innovative work, challenging poverty directly in the developing world. You will have the opportunity to work on issues and projects as they arise. Possible activities include:

  1.   conducting vital research necessary for project preparation

  2.   visiting and working on our projects in the field as a consultant lawyer

  3.   helping to prepare materials for use in workshop programmes

  4.   providing Protimos with general support crucial to our growth as an organisation, e.g.

ensuring our work is widely disseminated.

We also expect a financial contribution from Protimos 500 members, the level of which we can discuss if you are interested.

We will keep you up to date with the progress of our work, and you will receive invitations to private events, as well as to our public fundraising functions.
