Welcome to Protimos

Protimos is an organisation of lawyers who work to provide access to law for indigenous and marginalised communities in the developing world.

It is widely accepted that legal empowerment of a poor community is vital for its ethical, sustainable development to be achieved and maintained. In the process of globalisation, indigenous communities who are marginalised from the law and the protection that it affords, often find themselves vulnerable to exploitation and corruption.

We help such communities find a legal voice, enabling them to derive economic benefits from their natural resources and gradually to emerge from poverty.
